Different types of argumentative and expository Essays
An essay, generally is a piece of written work that expresses the author’s point of view however, the definition is so vague and can be overlapping with that of personal letters or essay, a report, an article, and even a short story. Essays can be classified either formal or informal. However essays can be formal or informal in the present world.
The goal of a student writing an essay that describes the subject is to convince the reader that the evidence supports their view. The essay must be concise and well-supported by the author’s point view. Otherwise, it will fail. The majority of descriptive essays are graded based on how supportive the author’s viewpoint is. However, this does not mean that every factual statement in a factual essay will support the author’s view. Rather, the facts must be in accordance with the author’s theory. This is a common situation and the reader will be at understanding the author’s position and justify their views.
Narrative essays follow a different structure. The essay format is not used as the basis for the argument. Instead the narrator constructs an outline for the essay. The writer writes the text to support the thesis. In a narrative essay the writer does not assume an active role in the creation of the essay. The writer serves as an instrument for the primary protagonist to get from A to B. If the writer is unable to provide evidence to back their argument, a narrative essay is likely to fail.
The irony structure is a different structure that essayists commonly use. An example of an essay that uses this structure is “But I am an angry person.” The essay is a good fit for this structure because you can see the thesis of the essay brought to life through the actions of the principal character. The statement “But… I am an angry man” is a statement that the subject is angry. The irony is that the subject of the essay is angry and this makes the essay an interesting method of writing.
An expository essay uses the first person perspective, or commonly referred to as “I,” to tell its story. Expository essays usually tell an event that a student already has an opinion on. Therefore, they are rarely an element of the student’s argument. An expository essay typically describes an historical figure, a piece of equipment, or another important item from the past. Since it is usually presented as an opinion piece, the reader will not know if their opinion is genuine or not.
As the name implies, the focus of the essay will be on the thesis statement. The thesis statement is the main portion of an essay. The thesis is typically an interpretation of something they’ve experienced, read, or heard. The introduction to the thesis will introduce readers to the topic. The introduction to an essay will usually include the thesis statement.
The expository essay is another kind of argumentative essay. This type of essay begins with a thesis, and then is used to discuss various issues related to that thesis. One problem is usually linked to another, or is linked to other problems. They are generally longer than argumentative essays, and can be as long as two hundred fifty words. After the expository essay is completed and has covered all relevant arguments the conclusion is typically quite short. In some instances, the conclusion suffices.
Expository essays can be difficult to write due to them being too brief to express what you think you are aware of. You could also do not include a thesis statement altogether and just use the rest of the essay to describe your thoughts. This kind of essay is more effective if it is not as argumentative as it is narrowly focused. In the absence of that, it will be difficult to add additional ideas to it.
